Ufc 113 Results

MachidaIndonesian LanguageThe UFC 113 results are in and there’s a new UFC Light Heavyweight champion!  In just over 3 and a half minutes time tonight, Mauricia “Shogun” Rua was able to knockout the previously unbeaten Lyoto Machida to take the title.  It was a sweet victory for Rua after the controversial unanimous decision at UFC 104.  During that event, Machida was able to retain the title. Tonight was a different story for the results of the UFC 113 card.

After a series of early takedowns from Machida, Rua survived to put on his best fight.  He landed a right hand shot to Machida’s head, then mounted him on the ground to continue the onslaught.  He delivered several punches on Machida until eventually the champ was down and out.  It was a quick main event victory and now Rua will be the top dog in the 205lbs weight class.

In other fights, Josh Koscheck defeated Paul Daley with a unanimous judges decision.  His scores were 30-27, 30-27 and 30-27.  Daley got in a cheapshot after the horn had sounded, but the referee managed to prevent a brawl from breaking out.  Koscheck now receives a title fight against Georges St. Pierre, and will coach opposite him on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 12.

Former NFL defensive lineman Matt Mitrione took the win over street fighter Kimbo Slice.  Mitrione is building up his resume early, and tonight forced the ref to stop the fight in Round 2 after he mounted Slice and continued to pummel him with punches.  Also, Jeremy Stephens won the scoring from two judges and was able to take the victory over Sam Stout, and Alan Belcher forced Patrick Cote to submit to a rear-naked choke.  Belcher is now asking for a title shot against Anderson Silva after winning four of his last five fights.
